The European Commission has released the results of survey on the “Perception of Quality of Life in European Cities”.
The survey was conducted in 79 cities of all EU Member States as well as Iceland, Norway, Switzerland and Turkey. 41,000 urban dwellers rated their satisfaction with various aspects of urban life, in particular public services.
The survey was conducted by TNS Political & Social at the request of the European Commission, Directorate-General for Regional and Urban Policy, and was co-ordinated by the European Commission, Directorate-General for Communication (“Research and Speechwriting” Unit) and Directorate-General for Regional and Urban Policy (“Competence Centre Inclusive Growth, Urban and Territorial Development”).
The level of satisfaction with public transport in European cities varies significantly between the cities included in this survey. Riga is showing the best result among Baltic countries.

Compared to 2009, the most substantial increase in satisfaction with Public Transport were seen in cities listed below. Riga is in 3rd best position out of 79 cities in Europe.
And at 81% satisfaction level, Riga ranks among the top cities in EU for Public Transport satisfaction!
